so yeah, I guess it feels a little strange that I still use this account to update my life since jeff and I both found other people...but *shrug* most of my friends are on here...so I update once in a while.
For those of you who don't know, I'm back in Seattle (though I'm leaving for SH again in a week for a month, but I'll be back for good after June)! I think as for now, I'll be spending the summer and fall prepping for grad/law school, and winter back in china for my bf, and early spring next year evaluating the international job markets in US and Asia. I have no prob with going back for more school...but i'm not sure if i want to spend 120,000 tuition and three years of my time when I'll come out to make the same amount of money if there are some big corporation who's willing to offer me that in a shorter period of time (and no grave financial investment that is).
Settling back in the house was interesting, strange aggravating drama between Jeff's gf and I was irritating, catching up with friends were just about the coolest thing.

ah, I can't believe how life have passed me so...
it's been two weeks or more since I've sit down properly in front of my desk and had any serious contact with my computer...
Everything had been so crazy and i've been completely wrapped up in shooting TV shows I'm so sick of it...
I thought about refusing the leave my bed one day just for no reason and end up being fire couple days later...then i'm FREEEEEE....
*sigh*
I think i'm a bit burned out and start to have dumb thoughts.
I miss home, it's gonna be another 5 months before i can quit this stupid job >:( |

It's been a while since any updates at all, mainly because my work has been killing me.
I never really properly explained, but what my company does is shooting TV shows (especially reality TVs) and design web sites for promotional events and other media companies. We also do packaging, styling, music videos...and all sorts of other interesting things.
I'm in charge of the communication for web site and responsible for seeing the whole designing, programming, and uploading of the site runs smoothly while getting to see how they shoot TV shows. It's a completely different field, fun & challenging, but sometime I feel like I have sold my soul to the devil by working so hard for money. :P
I was back in Seattle for a very brief period of time (really brief...i think just 7 days) and it was nice to see some of the friends and family. It was REALLY nice to be back home with the family, just laid back and enjoy some home cooking...I don't think you can ever fully appreciate the goodness of home until you have left it :'( I will be back again in March for a longer stay I think, afterward I will be in Shanghai until the end of August (and miss Dorothy's wedding >_< I can't believe it! I'm so upset about that!! please send plenty of videos and photos...but I think I might make it to her chinese one in China) at which point I will return to Seattle for about 6 months to prepare for law school application, hopefully to the East Coast.
It's amazing how quickly life moves on. It felt like I have just graduated from high school not long ago and now I have already settle into a different phase of my life. It's very exciting, and a little bit sad...but I'm generally really happy about where I am and where I'm heading. |

Went to the Black Eyed Peas concert last night in Shanghai.
It was really cool.
i mean i debated about it u know...i DON'T need to spend the money....however, it might be their last tour or something like that since they are breaking up soon...and also, i NEED to get out and have some FUN! It's nice to put everything out of my mind for two hours with some loud music and awesome base. So good for me, it was money well spend.
But after the fun, i need to get myself back into work and the ridiculously bitchy and stupid clients...where does it comes in that when you are the assistant, everyone TRIES to fuck with u?

God it's been SO LONG since my last update...Primarily because i can't seen to get on the LJ site from work, and I'm tired as a dog when i'm home.
so i've been busy busy.
relatives are in town and working two jobs seems to have that effect of sucking your sleeping time down to near zero...
but all should be well again when everybody leaves and I get to stop and BREATH for a second. (my brain is totally fried and I know so because it took me 3min to remember how "breath" is spelled)
on the restaurant work front:
-becoming more bossy and think every one is moronic over here. suppose that's good for me because it's my job(?)
on the media work front:
-busy packaging this horrible local girl band that's about the debute...we were making them customs so i run around w/ our stylist too search for fabric and talk to clothe makers...remind me so much of my parent's business it's strange
......
so even though i'm so tire, and so busy, everybody (maybe even including myself) tells me that I'm just taking a break from life and i should really just stop everything and think about what i want...professionally and personally. It's not a bad idea, but I can't help but think that I'm so lost and so clueless as to what i want in my future i'm not sure stopping everything will help. All you can do is to focus on the task at hand right? Not the past, or the future...just take it as they come? or is that dangerously close to not getting anywhere toward a goal?

so in the last 48 hours i've learned to roll my own cigarettes, i've hired a maid, i've taken the last midterm of the quarter, i've worked, and i've kicked off SIFF with a vengeance (Seattle International Film Festival). I've also said hello to sara's mom and brother, and made sure that julie is taking well enough care of herself. it's like i'm a hero or something. either way, i totally hired a maid. i'm not even joking. good night. |

lol figured i had to try the love element thing. of course i'm the one that's to be avoided by sara, hehe.
so seattle is good, it's sunny! kinda warm. will be yogging to gasworks park in about an hour or so. figured i'll get some sun. and yogging is how we've decided to pronounce it apparently. soft j. it's spanish? or something. not much else new, working a lot a lot, schooling almost as much, midterms this week. today's went ok, tomorrow's will go ok too, though i'll be up and studying from about 6am. good times. been planning the upcoming thailand trip which is weird. i've never planned one of my trips before; booking hotels?? what the hell is up with that! *shrug* i'm excited. hope everybody i've not talked to in a little while is doing well! back in seattle!
the fresh air, the trees and grass, and the (occasionally) blue blue sky!
people need to learn to appreciate these things, honestly!
still adjusting to the jet leg quite difficulty, can never stay awake past 8:30.
so many restaurants that I want to visit it's such a shame that I might not be able to do all of them.
hopefully jeff and i would have time to go down to Vancouver this friday, but for now there's no sure things as my schedule keeps on changing. but i should have enough time to do everything for i'm here until next thursday.

I think this might be the happiest week for me in shanghai, yay~
even though it's all gray and rainy, doesn't really matter...
not as much stress at work, something good, yay~
haven't faught with dad for a while, something hopeful, yay~
friends coming into town to visit, something new, yay~
both of us moving on yet still great friends, something nice, yay~
going back to seattle in a week, get to visit everything, something i've been waiting to do forever, yay~

I keep on saying that I'm not stressed...well, i don't FEEL stressed anyway.
and others keep on insisting that I am.
I know it might looks like I should be under a lot of stress, but since I don't feel it, I just sort of dismiss whatever people have to say quite easily.
however,when I realized that I've been eating pretty much none stop any chance I get, especially on my days off and I no longer fits into the pants that I brought here 6 months ago, I have to admit that I MIGHT have a tiny problem.
ok stress, let's face it, I only have 2 pairs of jeans and I need to fit into them. so I'll deal with you as long as you keep yourself away from the kitchen. |
